Agis Page of miniature painting and gaming - Olympus
Agis est de retour avec des peinture d'Olympus qui dépotent !!

Dionysus, Hekate, Artemis and Hephaestus
Taurandron (Miniature, a huge 7 cm big "mini") and Khalkotaur (a mechanical Bull)
The Hephaestus miniature is a stunning work, fitting in style to the Automatons; consequently I painted him in a very similar way as the two Automatons. And being the god of metalwork I gave him a metal laurel...
In the classical period of Greek mythology, Artemis was often described as the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. She was the Hellenic goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and protector of young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women; she often was depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows. The deer and the cypress were sacred to her.
The Crocodile Games miniature is again flawless, a very simple and elegant miniature, I tried hard to give the sculpt credit.
The mini is nearly as big as Hephaestus, nearly a head taller as any of the Amazon sculpts.
A test of colours on the 1st Amazon. I wanted a coherent look with Hekate.
The Crocodile miniature is again an incredible nice and faithful representation of Dionysus, the wine leafs, the goblet full of wine and the cheerful face bring him "to life". I chose a lighter colour palette for him.

Wargods of Olympus
Crocodiles ambitious project to offer a second game line. Teemed around the classical Greek Gods and Mythology. I received some preview minis back in 2003 or 2004. In 2013 they restarted the whole endeavour and funded their successful Kickstarter.
I pledged high and have to say that my trust in Fit and his crew was not misplaced, high quality miniatures as expected. The first I painted of the new minis are two of the equally huge and fantastic Automatons.
Hephaestus - the Greek god of blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes. Hephaestus' Roman equivalent is Vulcan. In Greek mythology, Hephaestus was the son of Zeus and Hera, the king and queen of the gods.
As a smithing god, Hephaestus made all the weapons of the gods in Olympus and crafted much of the magnificent equipment of the gods, and almost any finely wrought metalwork imbued with powers that appears in Greek myth is said to have been forged by Hephaestus. Hephaestus also built automatons of metal to work for him.
The mini is highly detailed. The most impressive detail for me was the small battle scene on his right shoulder guard. Two warriors are fighting a centaur!
Below some more Automatons, the Owl (Aurabubos) and Hound (Kynoton). Both are as nice as the other two Automatons and real treat to paint.
Below some more Automatons, Two Hoplite Automatons. Again gorgeous miniatures that came with separate heads and choice of armament, either a spear or sword.
Artemis - one of the most widely venerated of the Ancient Greek deities. Her Roman equivalent is Diana. Homer refers to her as Artemis Agrotera, Potnia Theron: "Artemis of the wildland, Mistress of Animals".
Hekate - The goddess in Greek religion and mythology, most often shown holding two torches or a key and in later periods depicted in triple form. She was associated with dogs, light, the moon, magic, witchcraft, knowledge of herbs and poisonous plants, necromancy, and sorcery.
Colours associated with her: Black, orange, yellow-orange, and red-orange.
Gems and Metals: Sapphire, silver, gold, moonstone, black tourmaline, black onyx, hematite, smoky quartz and any stone that is dark or luminous.

The sculpt is reflecting the symbols of Hekate very nicely, you can really see that a lot of thought was put into the miniature. Gemstones, moon symbols and the staff is showing the triple woman form. Consequently I decided to use mostly dark colours and sapphire gem colours.
Dionysus - Dionysus - The god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness, fertility, theatre and religious ecstasy in Greek mythology. Alcohol, especially wine, played an important role in Greek culture with Dionysus being an important reason for this life style.

Athenian sculpts are complete!
Great news! The last of the Athenian sculpts have been completed today!
The new sculpts include the Herald and Musician, Archer Captain, Peltast Captain, and the last 3 shields (for Companions of Theseus, Poseidon's Faithful, and the shield for Theseus.)
Let's show off the greens:
Theseus, King of AthensFirst up is Theseus, the king of Athens and slayer of the legendary Minotaur. We've shown Theseus before, but this is the finished version including his shield. The shield shows a stylized image of the Minotaur's head, surrounded by a wave pattern (Theseus is a son of Poseidon.) His armor, as well as that of his bodyguards, was designed to have a slightly more archaic look than the rest of the Athenians.
Athenian Herald & MusicianNext we have the Athenian Herald and Musician. The Herald carries a standard showing the Aegis shield of Athena, surmounted by a laurel wreath and owl. The Musician is a simpler model, blowing a horn whose shape mirrors the curl motif used to decorate Athenian armor.
Athenian CaptainsLast are the Peltast and Archer Captains. These guys lead the 'universal' peltast and archer models, they are intended to look like more wealthy warriors than the peasants and conscripts that they lead.
These greens will be heading to the moldmaker's this week, and we'll be working on their production molds over the course of the next month or so. If all goes well, we hope to begin shipping them to Athenian backers around late July (let's keep our fingers crossed!) If you are not an Athenian backer and would like to add them, Paypal Pledging will remain open until production begins. You can find to the Paypal Pledging page here:

In the mean time, we'll be working on the minis for the next release - the wealthy Corinthians... so stay tuned!
Thanks!
